Comparing Online Shopping To A Poker Game
I always thought that there are several things that buying over the internet and playing poker have in common. When you buy something over the internet, you never know exactly what you will be getting once you receive it. The same thing goes in a poker game. You never know what card you will be getting next until it has been laid in front of you. That is probably one of the main reasons why a lot of people who play poker love buying their items over the internet. They somewhat feel like they are almost playing poker when they make their online purchases everytime. Actually, that is exactly the way I feel each time I would have to place an order online.
If I were given a choice, I would prefer to pick up my purchases personally by foot instead of buying them over the internet. There are some things that I am worrying about when I make my purchases online. Although I must admit that I would feel terribly lazy most of the time to even leave the house so I would just end up buying them over the internet. I have been buying over the internet for quite sometime now so I am somewhat confident with the sites from where I make my purchases.
There are times when my friends would suggest a new website where I would find something interesting to buy. However, I believe that they are only informing me of the website so they can make me buy something from that website. That way, they would not have to risk buying something because I will be the sacrificial lamb. There was one time when I actually gave in to this new website and I ended up being scammed. From that moment on, I did not bother to try new websites that are not yet as credible as they claim to be.
Just like poker, online shopping involves a lot of risks to be taken. If you know which card to lay down on the table, you can be lucky enough to win over those who are trying to take your money from you. If you are lucky enough, then you can be sure that nobody can pull off their tricks on you. The wild card will be coming from you. You get to pick the best among the rest without having to lay all your cards down in front of everybody else. I think this is what everybody wants. The only problem is that they are too busy thinking of new ways to take advantage of their opponents.
In the game of poker, you need to be witty and smart in every move that you will be throwing to avoid being studied by your opponents. If they get to study a pattern from you, you can be sure that you will never win. In terms of shopping online, you should never leave a trail of your shopping patterns because there will always be online vultures waiting for you.
